As you already know, the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam is fast approaching.
From June 05 to 07, 2008, Tallahassee, Florida will play host to the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam. The Southern Fried Poetry Slam is the Final Four of competitive poetry and has grown to be the second largest poetry convention in the nation attracting over 200 poets and over 40 teams from all over the nation.
For the past ten years, Black on Black Rhyme and BackTalk! Poetry Troupe, have been one of Tallahassee's most consistent progressive cultural entities, hosting some of the most dynamic and highly anticipated poetry and spoken word events.
The growth, longevity and grand success of this movement would have been impossible without a commitment to cultural arts, by people like yourself, and the tremendous support of Tallahassee, and its surrounding communities at large.
With that said, it is a pleasure to extend to you the opportunity to make your support of the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam known, through investing in one of it's most popular events, the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam Finals!

An impressive 18 of the available 24 team slots have been successfully reserved to compete in the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slams on June 5-7, 2008, in Tallahassee, FL, and a shot at the $3,000 first place prize. Also, all 12 Indie slots have been filled but don't worry, you can still join the waiting list for a chance to win the $750 first place prize in the Individual (Indie) competitions.
So What's Next?
You have until 5/5 at 12am to officially register and secure your slot. You can do this by logging on to www.southernfried2008.com and clicking on the "Registration" tab.
Use the "Pay Now" button to make your online payment of $250 for teams or $100 for Indies. Don't forget to include your Stage name (for Indies) or Team name in the comments box. You can also e-mail info@southernfried2008.com if that's too confusing.
Since you have already pre-registered, you do not have to fill the form out twice. Once your payment is confirmed, your team/indie name will change from orange to white (with an *asterisk) on the "Poets" page. See full list of registered poets

Black on Black Rhyme™ hosts 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam Competition
In the summer of 2008, Tallahassee, Florida will host the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam.
The Southern Fried Poetry Slam is the Final Four of competitive poetry and has grown to be the second largest poetry convention in the nation attracting over 200 poets and over 40 teams from all over the nation.
From June 5th - 7th, 2008, The Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam will kick off in Tallahassee's Gaines Street entertainment district. The three-day event will be hosted by the nationally acclaimed Black on Black Rhyme Poetry Collective and take place at select venues in the area culminating with The Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam Finals. In addition, poets will host a youth poetry slam and numerous community writing workshops open to the public.
