SOUTHERN
FRIED VOLUNTEERS |
What's Good Family? As this year's volunteer coordinator for the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slams, I wanted to reach out to all non-competitors attending on June 5th-June 7th 2008, to extend an invitation to get involved. If you've ever attended a Southern Fried or National Poetry Slams, you know how integral volunteers are to making a big event successful. They are the unsung heroes and vital components that keep the weekend's festivities running smoothly. Either you or someone you know may be interested in helping out, but are wondering: What's in it for a volunteer? Well, besides helping a great cause, participating volunteers will gain free access to all preliminary bouts, open mics, workshops, finals, and even the jamming party after the competition on Saturday night! In addition to this, you'll be able to meet, network, and party with poets from all over the Southeast! Just fill out the form below and let us know your interests and availability. In the next few weeks, we will be reaching out to perspective volunteers to let them know the specific areas in which they will be needed. Volunteering is great for any of the supporters arriving with teams, as it allows them to be an active part of the competition. So, please forward this on to those that support your city's slam and encourage them to get involved. Thank you in advance and we look forward to working with you to ensure that this is the best Southern Fried yet! See you in Tallahassee on June 5th!
